WME Signs Yusuf/Cat Stevens In All Areas

(Beverly Hills, CA- November 1, 2022) WME has signed music icon and legendary British musician, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, humanitarian, and author Yusuf/Cat Stevens in all areas.

Inducted into both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame, Stevens is the recipient of an Ivor Novello Award and a two-time recipient of the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Award. His six-plus decade career has spanned multiple musical genres from folk, to devotional music, pop, and rock and has sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

Yusuf is known for creating songs that have served as touchpoints in nearly everyone’s lives from “The First Cut Is The Deepest,” to “Father And Son,” “Wild World,” “Peace Train,” “If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out,” “Morning Has Broken,” “Moon Shadow” (which inspired the creation of a musical by the same name), and so many more.

Yusuf is currently working on a new album, his highly anticipated autobiography, and an upcoming global tour. More details to follow soon. Within the last couple of years, he’s focused on a handful of retrospective projects: entirely re-recording Tea for the Tillerman as Tea for the Tillerman2and releasing a box set in celebration of the original album’s 50th anniversary, 50th anniversary box sets for Mona Bone Jakon and for Teaser and the Firecat, and the just released brand new 50th Anniversary LP release of the Harold and Maude soundtrack. Last year, his children’s book Yusuf’s Peace Train, became a New York Times #1 best-seller, and he was featured in the Apple TV+ documentary, 1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything, studying the connection between music and significant social and cultural reform. In December, he will release a newly remastered 50th anniversary edition of his 1972 album, Catch Bull At Four.

In addition to his artistic projects, Stevens has received two honorary doctorates and multiple awards for promoting peace and his humanitarian efforts. Notable awards include the “World Social Award” from the International World Awards Jury for “dedicating his life to aiding the needy and the ill” and the “Man of Peace” Award presented to him by Mikhail Gorbachev, on behalf of a committee of Nobel peace laureates for having worked to “alleviate the suffering of thousands of children and their parents and dedicating himself to promoting peace, reconciling people and the condemnation of terrorism.”

Stevens also continues to raise funds and awareness through his own global “Peace Train” initiative, with its mission to “feed the hungry and spread peace” focused upon delivering relief, medical aid, providing education and promoting peace to all regardless of background, nationality, or religion.

Yusuf/Cat Steven continues to be represented by his son Yoriyos Adamos, a truly formidable father & son partnership.
